Spring is here, well according to the calendar at least. Many people are still battling with winter weather, snow and ice but some have seeds sprouting in greenhouses and I’m sure there are farmers itching to get out and on the land.

Agri-Futures Nova Scotia is following the season of growth and renewal. The Board and staff are busy working on  a Future Directions project to redefine our purpose and goals. The George Morris Centre has been contracted to carry out an industry review. An industry survey was sent to past clients of AFNS and other industry stakeholders which was followed up by a Roundtable session held in Truro, NS on a wintery 1st of  April. This is a way for Agri-Futures to gather the needs of the industry so we can align our organizations strengths to help farmers and industry organizations.

This is an exciting time for our organization. It’s a time to celebrate past accomplishments, gather the strengths of the Board and staff, recognize what we can improve upon and help to move agriculture in Nova Scotia forward.

Industry input is very important to us. Please contact us if you would like to discuss what is happening with Agri-Futures. Now that we are exiting out of what seemed to be the never-ending winter and the grass starts to green I hope you are on a path of growth for the upcoming year!
